Thomas(Tommy) M. Fisher Jr., 58, of Belle Plaine, IA, passed away at his home on September 13, 2026.

Tommy was born August 26, 1968 to Thomas Sr. and Sandra (Anderson) Fisher in Marengo, IA. He was raised in Belle Plaine, attending Belle Plaine High School.

Tommy will be remembered as a funny and loyal man—a goofball at heart, with a bit of an ornery side. He was honorable and devoted to those he loved; he was proudly known as a mama’s boy. Tommy had a way of bringing laughter to those around him and creating memories. Even the familiar sound of his loud snoring is something his family will remember with a smile.

Tommy enjoyed the outdoors and found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing, sitting by the river, hunting for morel mushrooms, playing pool and other games. He also had an attachment for online shopping on Temu. Tommy was uniquely Tommy—one of a kind.

Tommy is survived by his children:

Jeremy (Chelsea) Fisher of Cedar Rapids and their children, Emmarie, Maxlynn, Annistyn and Freyja Fisher, Taylor, Leigha and Shawn Kounse, and Dax Smith.

Kandace (Billy) Fee of Belle Plaine and their children, Joey and Gus.

Ashlie (Parker) Andersen of Waterloo and their children, Abagail, Madlynn, and Liam.

He is also survived by his sisters, Lee Ann (Matt) Slaymaker and Billie Jo (David) Zhorne. Along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Tom and Sandy Fisher. We are comforted in knowing he has been embraced in their loving arms.

A Celebration of Life for Tommy will be 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Belle Plaine Community Center.
