Tammy S.
Anderson
May 18, 1973 — August 20, 2017
Tammy Sue (Eckert) Anderson, 44, cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, so loved by all of us was called to the Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Tammy shared a precious 12 years with the love of her life, soulmate, and best friend; her wife, Annette Hernandez. Together, Tammy and Annette raised four sons, Thomas Eckert, Marshalltown, Iowa, Christopher Anderson, Florida, Blake (Samantha) Eberhart, Toledo, Iowa, and Matthew Anderson, Belle Plaine, Iowa. Tammy found joy in caring for others and being "mom" to many youngsters, always offering a place to stay and support to anyone who needed it.
Tammy loved to cook and bake, one of her all-time specialties was lasagna and we couldn't get enough of her famous mouthwatering pumpkin pie. Tammy was very creative, she designed thousands of beautiful and meaningful graphic art tags featuring combinations of her favorite things which she shared on-line. She would find relaxation by cross-stitching treasures for her loved ones and coloring in her books with her fur-babies, her cats, Trouble and Spaz constantly by her side.
Tammy was born on May 18, 1973 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Nancy Sue (Eckert) Streets and Charles Eckert, she later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she attended school. Tammy moved to Iowa where she raised her children and lived in Belle Plaine, Iowa with her wife, Annette. Tammy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer in May of 2014, a devastating diagnosis which she faced head on. The last three years had their challenges, and Tammy kept a positive attitude, her strength and endurance shined.
Many would describe Tammy as having a laugh that's contagious. She was loved by many, she loved many, and will be dearly missed by all who have been blessed to have known her.
She is survived by her spouse; her children; father, Charles Eckert; sisters, Kelli Peters and Tracy Eckert and two nieces.
Tammy Sue Anderson was preceded by her loving mother, Nancy Streets, her beloved Daddy Bill, William Streets, III, and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the lower shelter of Franklin Park. There will be a potluck, so please bring a dish to share.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Chelsea Savings Bank, Belle Plaine and memorials can be made to The Tammy Anderson Memorial Fund. Cards may be sent to Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service to the attention of Tammy's family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.hrabakfuneralhome.com
