Sylvia Ellen Lippincott Vannoni, 96, of Belle Plaine passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Graveside service is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Brooklyn Cemetery in Brooklyn, IA with Pastor Tim Miller officiating.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, IA with a time for sharing at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.hrabakfuneralhome.com
Sylvia was born March 29, 1920 to Jeff and Minnie (Day) Wilson in Brooklyn. Attending school in Brooklyn she was the youngest of 13 children. On March 13, 1935, she married Charles Harvey Lippincott, they traveled around as Charles work in road construction. Together they raised most of their children in Irving, IA. During this time, Sylvia worked for Amana Refrigeration. The couple moved to Buffalo, MO, following Charles having a stoke. There Sylvia worked as a supervisor of HACAP, until Charles passed on January, 21, 1973. Sylvia then moved back to Belle Plaine, IA., where she worked at the Lincoln Café as a cook. On January 29, 1982 Sylvia married Fred Vannoni. Fred later passed on June 5, 1995. Sylvia has been a resident of Rosen Haven Nursing Home for the last 10 Years.
Sylvia enjoyed going to garage sales, auctions, playing bingo and selling Avon, but her favorite hobby was fishing and she loved teaching her grandchildren the sport as well.
Sylvia was a member of the Belle Plaine American Legion Auxiliary.
Sylvia is survived by her children, Dennis (Sandee) Lippincott of Fairfield, Linda Scott of Ocala, FL, Dana (Sam White) Knapp of Iowa City, Carol (Chuck) Elliott of Athens, TN, Connie (John) Gates of Belle Plaine, Jeff (Mary Robb) Lippincott and Chris Lippincott both of Marshalltown; 28 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband's, Charles Lippincott and Fred Vannoni; son, Chuck Lippincott; daughter, Sharon Jacobi; one grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren.
