Ruth Ann Stratton, 78, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at St. Luke's Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Ruth Ann was born January 19, 1944 to Chester Ed and Eleanor (Brooks) Holderman in Dayton, OH. She attended Westerville High School, Westerville, OH. Following school, she worked as a nanny until she married Richard Stratton, August 8, 1962. Together the couple moved to Belle Plaine to raise their family. Later going their separate ways. On December 11, 1982 Ruth Ann married Jim Stratton.

Ruth Ann enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, singing, and crafting. She was active in her faith as a member of Belle Plaine Christ United Methodist Church. Ruth Ann showed her compassion for others through her creation of Caregivers Corner, a support group, providing support for caregivers.

Ruth Ann is survived by her children, Robert (Jeanne) Stratton of Cocoa, FL, Robyn (Charles) Dauster of Lenexa, KS, David (Josh) Stratton of Des Moines, Russell (Kellie) Stratton of Vinton, Kim (Stacy) Meeks of Hartwick; grandchildren, Blaine, Quinn, Jesse Annette, Charlie, Lindsey (Garrett) and Kurtis (Nikki); great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Coby, Tate, Zoi, Zia and Cain; siblings, Bill (Marilyn) Holderman of Marion, Nancy (Bruce) Gansneder Keswick, VA, Rosemary (Patricia Welch) Holderman of Eustis, FL.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; husband, Richard; and sister Barbara Schereck.

Service is 11 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Christ United Methodist Church, Belle Plaine, IA. Service will also be livestreamed through the funeral service Facebook page. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
