Rick Lynn Homan, 61, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away October 14, 2026 at Belle Plaine Specialty Care, surrounded by family.

Rick Homan was born on August 9, 1965, to Dale Ervin and Frances M. (Knaak) Homan in Sigourney, IA. He graduated from Tri-County High School with the class of 1984. On May 27, 2006, Rick married Marie Bird in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Rick dedicated his career to the injection molding industry, working as a press operator. He spent over 20 years at Victor Plastics, more than 10 years at Total Source Molders in Reinbeck, and most recently worked at HCM Plastics in Fairfield.

Rick was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes fan who always looked forward to football season. He also enjoyed watching baseball and his Chicago Cubs. A dedicated sports fan, Rick enjoyed collecting sports cards and took pride in his extensive collection.

Rick was a loving man with an independent spirit, a stubborn streak, and a great sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh and leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him. Above all, Rick treasured his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; children, Joe (Cassie) Kratoska of Cedar Rapids, Eric (Allison) Homan of Toledo and Liz (Chris) Miller of Belle Plaine; brother, Jerry (Kristy) Homan of Plainfield, IL; grandchildren, Dominic Homan, Mary-Elizabeth Miller, Kal Kratoska and many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Private family graveside will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, IA.
