Richard L. Miller, 72, formerly of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA

Richard the son of Jack and Dorothea (Vandiver) Miller was born November 6, 1944 in Iowa. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School, following high school he joined the U.S. Navy. On August 29, 1970 he married Ellen Papesh, to this union a son was born. The couple later went their separate ways. Richard worked for Chicago North Western Railroad, and kept busy with many other miscellaneous jobs.

Along with being an avid Hawkeyes fan, Richard loved collecting coins and dollar bills.

He is survived by his son, Ronald (Tommi) Miller of victor and grandchildren, Cheyenne Robison, Samantha, Charlee, and Mason Fruendt.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Myron and sister, Marcella.
