Patrick "Pat"
D. Rupp
January 10, 1977 — February 27, 2024
Patrick "Pat" D. Rupp, 47, of Elberon, IA passed away February 27, 2024, due to injuries sustained from an accident.
Pat was born January 10, 1977, to Rick and Terria (Leonard) Rupp in Iowa City, IA. He grew up in Belle Plaine. He met his future wife, Jenny Cernin, in high school. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1995. Following high school, he continued his education at Hawkeye Community College and Marshalltown Community College earning his tool-and-die certification. He spent a short time in Arizona. Upon returning home to Belle Plaine in 2000, Pat and Jenny made their life together. They married on October 16, 2004, at Christ United Methodist Church. Together they built a home, raising their two daughters, Stella and Lyla, in rural Elberon.
Pat was the definition of hardworking. He worked at Kinze Mfg and helped support Jenny while she was attending college. He worked for Friedman Distributing for several years. He lent a hand to any and all. For Pat, there was never half-ass, only 100%.
Pat enjoyed all things sports--cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, New York Mets, and Iowa Hawkeyes, traveling cross country with friends to watch wrestling, and cherishing his time coaching his daughters. From earning a state wrestling championship to coaching his daughters' softball and taking home many Kubb championships, Pat was a talented athlete and the ultimate teammate.
No matter how busy Pat was, he always found the time to help someone in need. He enjoyed the simple things in life through hunting, fishing, or taking a drive down the gravel road to survey the next best hunting site.
Pat was a friend to all and best friend to many; he could make you laugh with his jokes and quick wit. If you had a problem, he was by your side to solve it. "If you don't know, ask Pat." He was selfless, gentle, and paid attention to life. He gave all he had to family and friends.
Most of all, Pat was a devoted husband and father. He was so proud of his girls, instilling his values in them and giving them unwavering support in all they did. Pat loved the Lord and wasn't afraid to share it. He was truly "The Best Dad Ever."
Pat is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Cernin) Rupp of Elberon; daughters, Stella and Lyla Rupp; mother, Terria (Nathan) Beck of Belle Plaine; father, Rick (Jackie) Rupp of Luzerne; siblings, Holli Carlson of Belle Plaine; Evan (Michelle) Fitzgerald of South Beloit, IL; Ryan (Sheridan) Rupp of Nova Scotia, Canada; Erich (JoAnn) Hinschberger of Raleigh, NC; Angie Kirschbaum; and many more loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, father-in-law, Richard Cernin, and special mentor, Virgil Marek.
Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine. The burial will take place at Koszta Cemetery, Koszta, IA.
