Orville K. "Bud" Moore, 96, of Blairstown passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab. Services are 11:30 am, Monday, January 4, 2016 at Blairstown Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. William Jamison officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown, IA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.hrabakfuneralhome.com Orville was born November 28, 1919 to Oren and Grace (Haines) Moore in Lester, IA. His family moved to Blairstown when he was young. Orville graduated from Blairstown High School in 1937. He served in the Navy during WWII, during that time he was married on April 13, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia to Bette Harris. Following his time in the service Bette and Orville raised their family in Blairstown. He worked at the Denniston & Partridge lumber yard where he worked his way up to manager. He left the lumber yard in 1970, and later worked at K-mart in Cedar Rapids until his retirement in 1985. Bud enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, playing cards with friends, going to Clear Lake fishing, and helping his grandsons learn to fish. He is survived by his wife, Bette, of 70 years; children Lanny (Margaret) Moore, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Bill Moore, of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Damon (Tiffany) Moore, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Darren Moore, of Cedar Rapids, IA; great-grandchildren, Jordon, Kenzie, Elia, Christopher, Ethan and many more loving family and friends. Bud was preceded in Death by his parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, and a great-granddaughter.
