Monica Jean Jansen, 87, of Toledo, IA passed away July 4, 2026 at Sunny Hill Care Center, Tama, IA.

Monica was born May 8, 1939 to Faye Delbert and Eva Mae (Norman) Wilhelm in Cedar Rapids, IA. On November 30, 1958, Monica married Leonard J. Jansen in Matherville, IL. Together they were blessed with four children.

Monica was known for her quick wit and mischievous sense of humor. Her playful teasing and perfectly timed jokes brought laughter to family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Monica was very sharp and enjoyed keeping her mind active by solving Sudoku word puzzles. She also loved crocheting, and playing cards, especially Solitaire, Rummy, and Uno with her grandchildren. She would laugh when she handed them a "Draw Four" card.

Monica spent countless hours tending her large garden along Highway 30 and caring for the beautiful flower beds surrounding their home. In her downtime, she enjoyed watching Billy Graham sermons and anything with Kevin Costner. Monica cherished time with her family, especially preparing holiday meals for everyone gathered at her table. Her laughter, humor, and unconditional love created memories her family will treasure forever.

She is survived by her children, Angela (Darrell) Cannon of Center Point, Elizabeth Jansen of Ely, Leonard Jansen II of Toledo; grandchildren, Trisha (Hayden), Lisa (Dan), Heather (Rick), Christopher (Kristin), Tristin, Shanell (Travis), Jory (Melanie), Josh (Samantha), Jordan (Mary); and great-grandchildren, Bailey (Holly), Coltin (Kate), Tristin (Alexa), Braydin, Eilish, Bryar, Briggs, Brooks, Briley, Braxton, Nash, Navy, Brynlee, Breanna, Layla, Brooklyn, Isaiah; Siblings, Marsha (Howard) Worm of Central City, Steve (Carol) Wilhelm of Cedar Rapids, Dennis (Shirley) Wilhelm of FL, and sisters-in-law, Jackie Wilhelm and Paula Wilhelm.

Monica is preceded in death by her parents, Faye (1985) & Eva (1998); husband, Leonard (2019); son, James (2015); brothers, Gordy (1997) and Gary (2021).

Graveside service is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Union Cemetery, Hartwick, IA.

Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, IA.
