Marjorie F. Chitty Lebeda, 91, of Tama and formerly of Chelsea, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Sunny Hill Care Center on Tama. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, April 25 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chelsea with Rev. Mike Mescher, Celebrant, and Deacon Joe Behounek assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30 AM Thursday at the church. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lenning of Venice, FL; son, Larry Dean (Maureen) Chitty of Hawaii; son-in-law, Michael Novotny of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Joyce Chitty of Red Wing, MN; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Marjorie was born May 8, 1921 in Chelsea, Iowa to Fred and Mayme Musel Upah. She married Eugene Chitty but later divorced. She then married Charles Lebeda on August 12, 1967. With Chuck she was a homemaker and helped him in the family restaurant. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing cards. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chelsea and later St. Patrick's in Tama. Preceding her in death were here parents; her husband; her sisters Florence and Violet; a son Terry Chitty; daughter, Patricia Novotny; granddaughter, Laura Goranson; great-grandsons, Tyler and Connor Chitty. Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine is handling the arrangements.
