Marcella Rose (Wentland) VanNevel, 84, of Belle Plaine passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at Belle Plaine Specialty Care.

Services are 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2017 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Victor, IA with Father Corey Close officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Victor.

Visitation is 4:30 -7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service in Belle Plaine and will continue one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.hrabakfuneralhome.com .

Marcella was born June 28, 1932 to John and Mildred (Keefe) Wentland in Grinnell, IA. Marcella grew up in the Hartwick area and attended Hartwick Consolidated School. On August 24, 1949, she married Andy VanNevel. To this union they had six children, Linda, an infant son, Bob, Susan, Bill and Jim. She worked in Amana until retirement in 1994.

Marcella enjoyed playing cards, planting flowers and decorating for every holiday. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She loved traveling out of state visiting them and being with family at holidays and gatherings.

Marcella is survived by her children, Linda Roggentien, Susan (Mike) Rego, Bill (Cathy) VanNevel and Jim (Tina) VanNevel; sister, Kay Herzberg; grandchildren, Ron VanNevel, Josh and Devin Roggentein, Mia Begg, Gabe VanNevel, Josh and Chris Rego, Jason VanNevel, Jenny Perez, Jeff and Stacy VanNevel, Donna Chaffee, Brandi VanNevel; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Lance VanNevel, Drew Pyburn, Connor, Lauren, Ethan, and Aiden Begg, Trenton Young, Dillon and Tessa VanNevel, Cheyanna, Breanna and Savanna VanNevel, Elysia Severson, Mia Perez, Allie and Kaylee Lang, Cameron, Ashland and Adrian Chaffee, and Oliver Sun; great-great-grandchildren, Grace Marcella and Sarah Hope Pyburn; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; son, Bob VanNevel; great-granddaughters, Selena Apodaca and Isabella Severson; brothers, Johnny and Mike Wentland; sisters, JoAnn Miller and Jeanne VanNevel.
