Mabel E. Henle Johnston Muck, 83, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center following a lingering illness. Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 25 at the Hrabak Funeral Home by Pastor Michael Stombaugh. Burial will be at a later date in Goldenrod Cemetery, Deep River. Visitation will be 9:00 AM Wednesday until the time of the service. Mabel was born September 6, 1928 in Tama County to Delbert and Edna Ehlers Coleman. In her early years she taught school and did miscellaneous jobs. She had her own sewing business in Arkansas. She was a waitress and cook at several local businesses. On April 9, 1947 she married Horace "Pat" Henle and later Harvey "Red" Johnston on August 14, 1971. She is survived by sons, Delbert Henle of Tonapah, Nevada, Douglas (Linda) Henle of Belle Plaine, Dennis (Connie) Henle of Pella and Richard (Misty) Henle of Coralville; daughters, Beverly (Richard) Foels of Oak Harbor, Washington, Kathleen Woodman of Hartwick, Elaine Henle of Montezuma, Melanie Henle of Marengo, and Denise (Dale) Beck of Jacksboro, Texas; sisters, Evelyn Clemann, Bernita Knudsen, Mary (Ray) DePauw, Florence (Paul) June, Frances (Vaun) Williams, Marilyn (Jim) Johnson; brothers, Raymond (Betty) Coleman and Gary Coleman (Jani Wren); also by twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard, Russell, George, and James Coleman; sister, Bettie Bearden; two grandchildren, Mike Farrier and Angela Henle; two great-grandchildren, Evan McKeone and Lukas Hegarty. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
