He attended school in Hartwick and graduated from the last class ever for Hartwick High School in May 1960. He then attended Universal Trade School in Omaha studying refrigeration and air conditioning services. He worked in Moline, II, Marion, Amana, and Belle Plaine. In 1972 he started his own business "Roth Appliance" in Belle Plaine. In 1982 he took on TV sales and service and the business became Roth W & Appliance which he operated until his health forced him to retire in 1998. He loved and was very proud of his work. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church where he served on the parish council and finance committee. He was a member of the St Michaels Church Knights of Columbus. Kenneth was a member of the Belle Plaine Chamber of Commerce. He was a 35 year member of RSES (Refrigeration Service Engineers Society) where he held several offices, including President. On May 31, 1963 Kenneth married LaDonna Fisher at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn. They lived in Blairstown and Hartwick for a short time. They moved into their present home in Belle Plaine in May of 1966. He is survived by his wife LaDonna, sons Wade (Suzy) and Neal (Anna), and his pride and joy 5 grandchildren Jerome Mathis, Jarid Kalinay, Waylon Roth, Payton Roth, and Jordan Roth. Great grandchildren are Owen Mathis and Cole Mathis. He is also survived by his sisters Kathryn Ostrom, Shirley Bloome, and Maxine (Cecil) Roberts, sister in law Betty Roth, and his brother in law Dale(JoAnn) Fisher and brother in law Kenneth Bevins. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, daughter in law Lori Roth, brothers Edward and Wallace, sisters Elmira Bevins and Vivian Himschoot and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, especially with lifelong friend Doug McDonald from Cedar Rapids who passed away earlier. Their health just would not let them continue, but there are a lot of great river stories being told again in heaven.
