Joshua Jerod Stamp, 44, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, passed away on June 25, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids due to medical complications.

Josh was born on March 27, 1982, in Grinnell, Iowa, to Jerry and Cynthia (Ellenberger) Stamp. He was raised in Belle Plaine and graduated from Belle Plaine High School, class of 2000. While academics were never his favorite, he loved sports, especially wrestling. His dedication to the sport earned him a trip to the state wrestling tournament during his senior year. He continued his wrestling career at Waldorf and Coe College before transferring to the University of Northern Iowa, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business.

Josh worked as a branch manager for Community 1st Bank in Amana before operating his own business, Stamp Ag in Belle Plaine. Most recently, he was employed by Harley-Davidson in Des Moines. He also proudly served his community as a former volunteer firefighter with the Belle Plaine Fire Department.

In October 2005, Josh married Jessica Kaplan, and together they were blessed with three children. Although their marriage later ended, their shared love and commitment to their children never wavered.

Behind Josh's stubborn exterior was a devoted father, caring son, and a loyal brother and friend, a man whose honesty and sense of humor left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Above all else, Josh was incredibly proud of his three children. He wanted them to grow into the very best versions of themselves and often reminded them with one simple piece of advice: "Always listen to your mom."

Josh is survived by his children, Addison, Brock, and Bo Stamp; parents, Jerry and Cindy; brother, Adam all of Belle Plaine; along with many more family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.

Memorial service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2026 at First Lutheran Church, Belle Plaine. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, IA.
