Rev. Jack J Andrews, 72, of Belle Plaine, died Wednesday, Oct 22, 2014 at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, with an ongoing battle of cancer. Celebration of Life services will be on Monday, Oct 27 at 10 am at the Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine with a luncheon following at the American Legion Hall. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct 26 from 4 to 7 pm at Hrabak Funeral Home. Jack was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 16, 1942 to A. Jack and Winifred (Drinovsky) Andrews. He was raised by his grandparents Charlie and Bessie Drinovsky. He proudly served in the Marines from 1960-1964, based in California. Jack married Linda Kahler on March 16, 1971 in Las Vegas. He managed a grocery store in New Hampton, worked for Chicago Northwestern, was a welder at FMC and Kinze's, and retired from Midwest Color Printing in Marengo. He was a member of the American Legion Post 39 for 31 years. He was Pastor at Christian Fellowship Church in Belle Plaine for over 30 years. He had a passion for the jail ministry and was a hospice minister for five years. He is preceded in death by his son, Donald J Andrews; brothers, Charles Andrews and Mike Andrews; nephew Russell Andrews DeNeve. Survivors include his wife, Linda; daughter, Freda (Neil) Selk of Iowa City and their three children (Mason, Colsen, and Easton); Troy of Belle Plaine and his son Gabe. Granddaughters, Krystol of Cedar Rapids and her children (Dacia, Lynk, and Vayda) and Regina and her children (Ivan and James). Memorials may be directed to the family.
