Elmer W. Lohf, 86, of Luzerne passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015. Elmer was born on the family farm near Luzerne on October 31, 1928 to William and Pearl (Berkheimer) Lohf. He attended Buckeye country school and graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1945. Elmer served his country during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 as a map compiler with the 64th Engineering Battalion stationed in Tokyo, Japan. He was honorably discharged on April 1, 1957. On October 16, 1971 he married Charlotte A. Anderson of LaPorte City, IA. He farmed all his life on the family farm near Luzerne and enjoyed his livestock. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughters Linda (John) Jensen of Ankeny, Judy Adams of Deep River, Bonnie (Keith) Kroneman of Osage, and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Harold (Doris) Lohf of Luzerne, and two nephews, a niece, and their families. Services will be handled by the Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Belle Plaine Ambulance Fund, the Belle Plaine or Luzerne Fire Departments, or to the Oak Hill Cemetery Fund.
