Edward Kremenak, 103, of Clutier, Iowa passed away Friday, March 11,
2016 at Northbrook Manor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Visitation will be 4- 8PM with a time of sharing at 7:30 PM Monday, March
14, 2016 at Hrabak Funeral Service in Belle Plaine, IA. Memorials may be

A private family graveside will take place at National Cemetery, Vining, IA.
Edward, the son of Frank and Mary (Lavicka) Kremenak was born November
17, 1912 in rural Clutier, IA. He graduated from Clutier High School in 1931.
Following high school he graduated from State Teachers College, now the
University of Northern Iowa with his teaching certificate. Ed taught rural
school for three years. On June 15, 1943 Ed was married to the love of his
life Ollie Blaha, together the couple made their home on the family farm near
Clutier. Along with farming, Ed was a rural mail carrier for 45 years, an
insurance agent for Bohemian Mutual Ins., and a musician for 84 years,
playing the clarinet and saxophone.

Ed and Ollie enjoyed spending time together and traveling. They visited all
48 states, Southern Canada, Northern Mexico, Bermuda, St. Lucia, and most
of Europe. He had many hobbies, dancing, playing clarinet and saxophone in
different dance bands and polka bands, playing cards with the neighborhood
card club, gardening and woodworking.
He was a member of WFLA lodge #104 in Cedar Rapids, and CSA #279 in
Vining, rural school director, rural telephone director, and Oneida township
trustee.

Ed is survived by his wife Ollie of 72 years; daughter, Kathleen Brundage, of
Ely, IA; sons, David (Sharon) Kremenak, of Marengo, IA, Darrell (Gayle)
Kremenak, of Laurens, SC; grandchildren, Michelle Brundage, Tom E.
Brundage, Melissa (Chris) Abernathey, Ashlyn (Jarron) Christianson;
great-grandchildren, Joshua, Juliana, Byron, and Tynley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Tom Brundage, sister,
Olga Hartman, 4 brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law.

Edward always encouraged his children to play music and be involved in
sports. Ed had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his
family. He will be missed dearly.
