Edith Mae Elder,77, of Chelsea, IA passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at her home.
Edith was born to James and June (Postin) Caldemeyer on August 26, 1939 in Temple, MI. After attending school in Petersburg, IN Edith married Ronald Elder on September 12, 1969, in Iowa City, IA. Together they lived in Cedar Rapids, and later moved to rural Chelsea, where she worked at Meskwaki Casino until retirement.
Edith is survived by her husband, Ronald Elder, of Chelsea; daughters, Helena Elder of Sedona, AZ, Barbara Towle of Belle Plaine, IA; grandchildren, Brad (Amy) Towle, Blake and Bruce Towle of Belle Plaine, IA, Shaun Daniels of AZ, Joshua Daniels of NH; great-grandchildren, Brenda Stienford; sisters, Shirley (Gorden) Wensel, Janet Willet, Gale Caldemeyer; brothers, Jim (Nancy) Caldemeyer, Rick Caldemeyer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Sam Caldemeyer, and Ron Caldemeyer.
