Dwayne Blinkinsop Sr., 85, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Bickford of Clinton.

Dwayne, the son of Orlyn and Gladys Blinkinsop, was born on the family farm in Walnut Creek Township near Belle Plaine, Iowa. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School with the Class of 1959. Following graduation, he honorably served in the United States Army. During his early years on the farm, Dwayne developed the strong work ethic that would guide him throughout his life.

He went on to build a long and dedicated career with the Chicago & North Western Railroad, where he worked until his retirement in 2000. On December 21, 1974, Dwayne married Lydia Heun in Clinton, Iowa, where they created a home.

Dwayne will be remembered as a giving, honest, and thoughtful man who was always willing to lend a hand. He had a resourceful nature and found joy in gardening, woodworking, and tinkering.

He is remembered by his children: Dwayne (Sarah) Blinkinsop Jr., Mike (Stacy) Franklin, and Kristine Alexander; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his brother, David Blinkinsop; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Lydia Blinkinsop.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service with burial to follow at Winslow Cemetery, rural Poweshiek County. Memorials may be directed to the family.
