Dorothy A. Leonard, 86, died Friday, January 13, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following a lingering illness. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department. She is survived by her husband John "Jack" Leonard; sons, David and Joe (Sheree) Leonard, all of Belle Plaine; and also three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dorothy was born in rural Keystone, Iowa on October 6, 1925 to Michael and Minnie Sindt Bevins. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School. Dorothy and Jack were married August 18, 1944 in Bremerton, Washington. Dorothy was well known for her artwork. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and sister Loretta; and brothers Don and Clifford.
