David Neuhaus passed peacefully in the arms of his wife in the early hours of May 31, 2026, after unexpected complications from a chronic illness. He is survived by his wife and children, six grandchildren, a large and loving extended family of siblings, and one 18-year-old cat.

Dave was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and went to school at Prairie. He joined the Marine Corps in 1976 and was posted to Pensacola FL, Adak Alaska, Misawa AFB Japan, and finally South Korea, where he met his wife Nancy in 1980. They weathered the peculiar storms of military marriages and thrived for 43 years, producing four wonderful children.

Dave went on to become a successful business manager in Eastern Iowa for several Fortune 500 companies throughout his career before settling in Davenport, Iowa. His real passions, though, were art, music, and gardening.  A man of many talents, he was an accomplished artist, specializing in pottery, acrylic painting, watercolors, outdoor sculpture, and cigar box guitars, both acoustic and electric. He was an enthusiastic patron of the Quad Cities music scene.

Dave was truly larger than life, a force of nature filling our lives with his joy and relentless optimism. He was an irresistible combination of success and hard work fueled by a free spirit. We will miss him, and hold the love he made in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers and cards donations may be made to Dave's favorite charity; Common Chord General Fund at 129 N. Main St,  Davenport, Iowa.
