David Lee Allen, 69, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2017 at Marengo Memorial Hospital with his family at his side.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Followed with inurnment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be sent at www.hrabakfuneralhome.com .

David was born on February 1, 1948 to DeLoss and Pauline (Hines) Allen. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School, and served his country in the U.S. Navy, then returning to Belle Plaine where he was a police officer. He then became a machinist at Goss in Cedar Rapids.

He was an avid fisherman and loved to work on cars and fix things.

He leaves behind his brother, Richard (Margo) Allen; daughter, Tracy (Rod) Toney; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Deloris; nephew, Brandon DeWulf.
