Darrin Joseph Upah, 49, of Ottumwa, formerly of Belle Plaine, IA gained his angel wings, November 17, 2021.

Darrin was born May 19, 1972 to Russell and Maxine (Kacer) Upah in Cedar Rapids, IA. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1990. Continuing his education at Kirkwood Community College in CAD and obtaining an AA degree in Computer Science. He worked for Subway in Pella, IA.

Darrin loved spending time with family and friends, fishing and being outdoors. He enjoyed DIY home improvement projects, woodworking, and took great pride in his pickups.

He is survived by his son, Brock Wacha; parents, Russell and Maxine Upah; siblings, Brenda (Alan) Molyneux, Denise (Bart) Hamlett, Corinne (Barry) McGrew, Jeff Upah, Brent (Cindy) Upah; and many nieces, nephews, special aunts, uncles, & many other family; friend Terry LaPoint; goddaughters, Hailee and Hannah LaPoint, & many other friends.

Darrin was preceded in death by his grandparents; and sister-in-law, Deb Upah.

Memorial service is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, IA with Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Vining, IA.
