Helen A. Carlson, 83, formerly of Chelsea and Vinton, died Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center from complications of Alzheimer’s. Private graveside services will be Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Rector Cemetery, rural Chelsea, by Rev. David Crow. There will be no visitation. Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Donald) Schumacher of Marengo; sons, David Carlson of Ames, Dan (Susan) Carlson of Marengo, and Doug Carlson of Chelsea; sisters, Edna (Ed) Uchytil of Normal, IL and Barbara Kann of Belle Plaine; brother, George (Linda) Meeks of Hartwick; granddaughters, Amy and April Arp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Anna Meeks; husband, Edwin in 2004; and brothers, Robert and Richard Meeks.
