George Konicek Jr. |

George Konicek, Jr., 83, of Clutier died Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center following a short illness. Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chelsea by Deacon Joe Behounek. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Vining with Military Rites. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine where there will be a scripture service at 6:30 PM.
He is survived by his wife Darlene; a daughter, Connie (Alan) Weaver of Tama; grandchildren, Mike Polka, Jr. and Mindy Burnhart; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Buffington and Murray Polka.
George loved his family and friends. He enjoyed listening to and playing polka music on his accordion for different occasions in the area. We was a farmer most of his life but did read meters for the REC for several years. He will be missed.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Eagles in Tama and the Clutier American Legion.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Blanche Kubalek Konicek Messinger. |
